Here’s a little something for you to laugh at before I discuss today’s topic.
With comic panels, you only get one shot to make the audience like it and laugh. This isn’t a long series of panels where a story is developed. You have to get everyone to laugh with a couple word balloons and a single picture. So what makes a comic panel like-able? You’ve got to make it instantly funny and understandable. As a writer who likes to sketch comic panels, I have a hard time trying to get my point across in one small sketch.
That’s why I appeal to you, my audience. As experts on what you like to see (then again, who isn’t?), I’d love to hear back from you on what you think makes a good comic panel!
