The Very Nearly Honorable League of Pirates: Magic Marks the Spot

In this enchanting novel from Caroline Carlson, pirates and magic are every day life! Full of adventure and funny quips, this is a must read.

Hilary Westfield has always wanted to be a pirate; she can tie any knot, tread water for thirty-seven minutes, and she’s got a pretty good pirate’s shout. The only problem is she’s The Very Nearly Honorable League of Piratesa girl and the VNHLP (very nearly honorable league of pirates) doesn’t allow females. To make matters worse, Admiral Westfield, Hilary’s father, forces her to go to Miss Pimm’s Finishing School for Girls; the school where bullies use magic and silly classes like ‘Fainting’ abide. One night, Hilary sneaks out of the school, ready to take on adventure and a life of piracy. With the help of a certain pirate crew, her former governess and an enchanted 100 year-old gargoyle, Hilary might finally fulfill her dreams and a little excitement on the side!

A thrilling story, I ate up this book! I am looking forward to the next book in the series and I hope that it is just as great as this one!
